You could definitely say that Marion really, really left me speechless this time. And to be honest, I'm still a little baffled whenever I look at this drawing for the bazillionth time, too. It's one of those artworks which caught my eye immediatly and it still does. Let me explain...
For starters, this drawing was made on a size of paper slightly larger than A4 size. Meaning it's harder to get the details right, make them obvious enough to be seen and yet they shouldn't be all that visible. =witchi1976 added the right tones and details on the right places such as the little white sparkles, the eye lashes made of a combination of both dark and bright lines, the lines in the iris and the softness of the feathers to mention only a few of the many examples shown in this drawing
------------
The eye is said to be the mirror, a reflection of the soul. While I rated this drawing for its vision, I did not look for the meaning behind this work. Although the feathers required more space, they don't distract you from the subject on what this draw is all about: the eye itself. =witchi1976's drawn eye is full of energy and spirit. It's what an eye is meant to show. In other words: if you didn't know any better, you could easily believe this is a photograph you're looking at instead of a photograph. And that's the reason why I rated this drawing with 3.5 stars for its Vision.

What I found really interesting is that when =witchi1976 decided to participate with an Eye drawing contest, she did not choose for a normal, regular photo reference of an eye. She choose a very rare angle instead with the feathers as additional features. I find it, despite that it is drawn from an original photo, very original of her to do. So that brings me to 4 stars for its Originality.

I don't have a lot to say about the technique except that this is rendered extremely well with basic supplies such as mechanical pencils, white gel pen and paper. Perfect balance between contrasts, sharp eye for details like mentioned before and great blending on the areas which should be blended without overdoing it. If I could rate 10 out of 5 I would do it right away, but since that's not possible I'll stick to 5 stars for the Technique instead!

Impact... well it sure left an impact on me! I've said it before and I'll say it again: the drawing blew me away. I really don't know what else to say but wow!
Conclusion: I gave 5 stars for Impact.

Fantastic work, Marion. You have all the reason to be proud of yourself! Keep up the fantastic work.
I really, really like this!
first of all, I had NO idea of how you mede this when I first saw the pic. I just stared at it thinking "How do you do that?!".
I like when drawings make me thing like that, so the impact this one had on me, was, as you can see, in top. good job!
You have a awesome line, very steady, looking almost like a black and white photo: lovely.
I haven't seen something like this. Eyes are drewn all the time, but noone I've seen, has done it like this. it's amazing!
So both originality and technique are brilliant.
The only thingpulling down is that I can't see your vision with this pic to the fullest. If you analyse it, it's not easy to get to the 'Theme' or 'meaning' of this, it's really hard actually.
Oh, and good luck in the contest
overall:
A REALLY great drawing, with much skill and obiously time behind it. Also it uccures to me as a timeless drawing, meaning that it can go on and on through the times, wich in my eyes is real art!
totally awesome impact, it make me think alot!
I really really like this!
So what's your vision with this? That's all I'm wondering^^
